Mobile Market

IMG_5041 2.JPG

The GoFarm Mobile Market (#ChuckTheGoFarmTruck) is our “farmers’ market on wheels”, where we travel to different community locations to sell fresh and affordable food from our local farmers. We prioritize neighborhoods where barriers to accessing and affording local food are greatest, and where our partners invite us in to be part of their community.

In addition to selling fresh, local produce at affordable prices, we make sure to have fun with our food! While hosting our markets, we love to play with the kiddos, visit with older adults, and chat with parents, teachers, and neighbors alike. We incorporate fun, educational activities, coloring contests, kitchen giveaways, and more, to build excitement and inclusion into everything we do.

In 2022 we piloted a flexible pricing model to meet people where they are at and make local food more accessible for everyone. This model was a success. We are still using this model in 2024!

Why We Launched a Mobile Market

Our Community Food Access program was launched in 2016 and has been growing and evolving ever since. We started with weekly pop-up markets at Head Starts and Early Childhood Education Centers selling local food at affordable prices and conducting food education for kiddos.

Over the past few years, more and more community organizations became interested in hosting GoFarm markets at their sites. But the need started to exceed our capacity as we were limited in the number of markets we could host each week. With our new mobile market, we now have the infrastructure in place to host more markets, travel to new locations, and reach more of our community!

Our mobile markets are all about connecting more people to their local food system and making local food as inclusive and accessible as possible. We hope our mobile market programming excites and inspires people to get involved in their local food system, serving as an innovative connector between local producers and local consumers.
